Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 oz packet of Lipton Onion Soup Mix
- 1 large beaten egg
- ½ cup plain breadcrumbs
- ¼ cup whole milk
- ¼ cup ketchup
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp black pepper
Sweet Ketchup Glaze:
- ¼ cup ketchup
- 1 tbsp light brown sugar
- 1 tsp yellow mustard
Instructions
Step 1: Prep the oven and pan
Preheat your oven to 350°F. Spray a 9×5 loaf pan with cooking spray, or line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper (don’t forget to spray it, too).
Step 2: Combine the ingredients
In a large bowl, crumble the ground beef and add the Lipton Onion Soup Mix, beaten egg, breadcrumbs, milk, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and black pepper. Use clean hands or a large spoon to mix everything gently. (Overmixing can lead to a dense meatloaf, so go easy here!)
Step 3: Shape the loaf
Press the mixture into the prepared loaf pan or shape it into a free-form loaf on the baking sheet. If you’re doing it by hand, aim for a compact oval shape for even cooking.
Step 4: Make the sweet glaze
In a small bowl, mix together the ketchup, brown sugar, and mustard. Spread it evenly over the top of the meatloaf—this is where all that tangy-sweet goodness happens.
Step 5: Bake and rest
Pop the meatloaf in the oven and bake for about 1 hour, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F. Once it’s done, let it rest for 5-8 minutes before slicing. Resting helps the juices redistribute, so don’t skip this step!

Got leftovers? Lucky you! Wrap the meatloaf tightly in foil or store it in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. For longer storage, freeze individual slices for up to 3 months.
To reheat, cover the meatloaf with foil and warm it in the oven at 300°F until heated through. For quicker results, microwave slices in 30-second intervals. If you’ve got extra glaze, spoon a bit over the top to keep it moist.
